Any person taking another person away forcefully or by deception for ransom shall be imprisoned from fifteen to twenty years or imprisonment for life. He/she mat be punished with death, however.
- Taking away a person not older than 15 from his or her guardian or from person caring him/her without a reasonable cause shall be punished with imprisonment from three to fifteen years. Therefore, a foreigner has to be very careful about this.
Any person trading the person so taken away is punishable with imprisonment from five to twenty years and fine from ten thousand to forty thousand baht.
